Company history

Today, our online shop can look back on a success story lasting almost 15 years. Brügmann & Freyermuth OHG cad.Kat und EuroTrax Sonderkonstruktionen, as it was known back then, was founded in 1994.

At that time, it all started in a garage at home with the idea of transporting our own catamaran with ease through soft beach sand. The engineers and technicians, Joachim Freyermuth and Peter Brügmann, moved to Redderkoppel 11 in Kiel-Friedrichsort in order to implement and market their ideas. Patents were lodged and trade fairs visited. Clientele increased steadily and the demand for special constructions for a transport over difficult terrain kept growing. Soon after, an entire range of launching trolleys for sports boats such as catamarans, dinghies, inflatables and jet skis could be offered. Among the first customers were the Sports Centre of the CAU in Kiel and several shipyards.

The products are designed and developed with CAD programs and executed by one of our CNC-controlled processing centres. The products are ready for dispatch once they are preassembled.

The idea of developing an all-terrain wheelchair suitable for the beach was implemented successfully, allowing its deployment at the shores of the North Sea from Denmark through to Germany and the Netherlands. The year 2005 saw the move into the building next door with a hall for several CNC processing centres as well as a larger office. In 2006, the shop cadKat.com was launched successfully online. The unique launching trolley, all individual and spare parts in the modular construction system as well as our E-vehicles, are now dispatched throughout the world. The first machining mechanics apprentice joined the operation in 2011. Since then, four others have followed. Since August 2020, our operation is now also certified for commercial training.
